A novel CO2 utilization technology for the synergistic co-production of multi-walled carbon nanotubes and syngas

Mohamed S. Challiwala et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates two patented processes for converting CO2 and CH4 into solid carbon as a potential carbon capture and sequestration technique. The first process can reduce energy requirement by at least 50% and achieve at least 65% CO2 conversion, while the second process offers an alternative pathway for the regeneration/reactivation of spent DRM/CARGEN catalyst by using CO2.

Bio-inspired and Eco-friendly Synthesis of 3D Spongy Meso-Microporous Carbons from CO2 for Supercapacitors

Ao Yu et al.

Summary: Inspired by spongy bone structures, three-dimensional sponge-like carbons with meso-microporous structures are synthesized through one-step electro-reduction of CO2. These materials exhibit excellent capacitive performance, cycling stability, and energy density, making them promising for supercapacitor electrodes and flexible devices. This work provides a controllable synthetic route for porous carbons and a promising approach for effective carbon reduction and green energy production.
