Cost-utility analysis of normothermic machine perfusion compared to static cold storage in liver transplantation in the Canadian setting

Alexandria N. Webb et al.

Summary: The study found that incorporating normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) in a liver transplant program is more cost-effective than using static cold storage (SCS) alone, resulting in greater quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) gains over a 5-year period. The NMP strategy had lower average costs and was found to be an economically efficient choice from the perspective of public healthcare payers.

Missing Self-Induced Activation of NK Cells Combines with Non-Complement-Fixing Donor-Specific Antibodies to Accelerate Kidney Transplant Loss in Chronic Antibody-Mediated Rejection

Alice Koenig et al.

Summary: The study found that the presence of missing self may exacerbate DSA-dependent NK cell activation, leading to worsening chronic antibody-mediated rejection. Detection of missing self in allograft endothelial cells can help identify patients at higher risk for kidney transplant failure.

Hypothermic Machine Perfusion in Liver Transplantation - A Randomized Trial

R. Van Rijn et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated that hypothermic oxygenated machine perfusion can reduce the risk of nonanastomotic biliary strictures following liver transplantation from donors after circulatory death, with lower rates of complications compared to conventional static cold storage.
