Mixing Matters: Nanoscale Heterogeneity and Stability in Metal Halide Perovskite Solar Cells

Laura E. Mundt et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the impact of nanoscale compositional heterogeneity on the long-term stability of MHP solar cells using mixed A-site FA(0.83)Cs(0.17)PbI(3), and reveals that thermal annealing conditions during film processing can influence nan-scale compositional heterogeneity, with potential to improve device performance stability.

Nanoscale localized contacts for high fill factors in polymer-passivated perovskite solar cells

Jun Peng et al.

Summary: This research introduces a nanopatterned electron transport layer that overcomes the trade-off between passivation quality and series resistance in traditional polymer passivation layers. Combining the nanopatterned electron transport layer with a dopant-free hole transport layer improves the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells.

Air-Processed Infrared-Annealed Printed Methylammonium-Free Perovskite Solar Cells and Modules Incorporating Potassium-Doped Graphene Oxide as an Interlayer

Luigi Angelo Castriotta et al.

Summary: This study successfully demonstrated the use of double-cation perovskite processed in ambient air for the first time, by employing potassium-doped graphene oxide as an interlayer. The efficiency and stability of MA-free-based perovskite deposition in air have been improved by using GO-K and IRA, facilitating industrial-scale production of perovskite solar cells.

Band Engineering via Gradient Molecular Dopants for CsFA Perovskite Solar Cells

Ziru Huang et al.

Summary: Researchers have pursued perovskites with the multi-cation composition of Cs, MA, and FA for their high power conversion efficiencies, but their thermal stability is limited. To overcome this limitation, a band engineering strategy for CsFA perovskite-based inverted solar cells has been developed, which successfully improves carrier diffusion and achieves stabilized power conversion efficiencies of 20.3% in CsFA solar cell devices.

Perovskite solar cells with atomically coherent interlayers on SnO2 electrodes

Hanul Min et al.

Summary: By introducing an interlayer between the electron-transporting and perovskite layers in perovskite solar cells, researchers have successfully enhanced charge extraction and transport from the perovskite, leading to higher power conversion efficiency and fewer interfacial defects. The coherent interlayer allowed the fabrication of devices with a certified efficiency of 25.5%, which maintained about 90% of its initial efficiency even after continuous light exposure for 500 hours. The findings provide guidelines for designing defect-minimizing interfaces in metal halide perovskites and electron-transporting layers.
