Navigation Risk estimation using a modified Bayesian Network modeling-a case study in Taiwan

S. T. Ung

Summary: The study uses a Bayesian Network to estimate shipping accident risk in Taiwan, revealing variations in accident risk among different types and tonnages of vessels warranting global attention and further research. The rationality of the Bayesian Network model is validated through sensitivity analysis, providing an effective tool for navigation risk prediction.

The effects of safety delivery and safety awareness on passenger behaviour in the ferry context

Yui-yip Lau et al.

Summary: This research examines ferry passengers' perception of safety delivery and awareness on their preventative behaviours using survey data and structural equation modelling. Results show the positive influence of safety delivery and awareness on passengers' preventative behaviour, as well as the importance of passengers' perception of safety in ferry operations for safety enhancements. Recommendations for safety delivery development are also discussed in the study.
