Impact of an active surveillance program and infection control measures on the incidence of carbapenem-resistant gram-negative bacilli in an intensive care unit

The implementation of infection control measures led to a reduction in CRGNB colonization, and K. pneumoniae was most frequently associated with KPC-2 carbapenemase, while A. baumannii was predominantly associated with IMP-1 carbapenemase.
