Geometry of the Magma Chamber and Curie Point Depth Beneath Hawaii Island: Inferences From Magnetic and Gravity Data

Ahmed Mohamed et al.

Summary: This study utilized land gravity and airborne magnetic data to investigate the depth to the magmatic chamber and heat flow distribution beneath the active volcanoes of Hawaii Island. Dense intrusive material was observed beneath three adjacent volcanoes, while small chambers were found beneath two others. The depth to the magma layer varied in different regions, with higher heat flow near volcanic eruption zones.
