Summary: Development of a kenaf and magnetic biochar composite for Cd2+ removal in aquatic environments was studied in this research. The biochar contained iron particles that improved textural properties and enabled easy separation by magnet. Optimum adsorption was achieved at pH 5-6 with a maximum adsorption capacity of 47.90 mg/g, fitting well with pseudo-second-order and Langmuir isotherm models.

Morphological control and electrochemical performance of NiCo2O4@NiCo layered double hydroxide as an electrode for supercapacitors

Summary: Rational tuning of transition metal compound morphologies can effectively enhance their electrochemical performance. Grass-like NiCo2O4@NiCo-LDH composites showed superior electrochemical properties, outperforming sheet- and flower-like morphologies. When used as positive electrodes in an asymmetric supercapacitor, the grass-like composites demonstrated high specific energy and excellent cycling stability, indicating potential for energy storage applications.
