Full-length transcriptome analysis reveals the differences between floral buds of recessive genic male-sterile line (RMS3185A) and fertile line (RMS3185B) of cabbage

Aimei Tian et al.

Summary: Starch and sucrose metabolism, as well as plant-pathogen interaction pathways, play a dominant role in recessive genic male sterility (RGMS) of cabbage. The differential gene expression analysis showed that calcium signaling and sugar metabolism may be responsible for the occurrence of RGMS in cabbage.

Phytohormone and integrated mRNA and miRNA transcriptome analyses and differentiation of male between hermaphroditic floral buds of andromonoecious Diospyros kaki Thunb

Huawei Li et al.

Summary: This study investigated the sex differentiation regulation mechanism of andromonoecious persimmon through histological and cytological observations, phytohormones assays, and gene expression analyses. The findings revealed differences in morphology and phytohormone content between male and hermaphroditic floral buds of 'Longyanyeshi 1' and identified candidate genes and miRNAs associated with its sex differentiation.

Divergent metabolic responses to sex and reproduction in the sea cucumber Apostichopus japonicus

Jingwei Jiang et al.

Summary: This study used ultra-performance liquid chromatography to investigate the metabolic profiles in cell-free coelomic fluids of sea cucumbers of different sexes and reproductive states, revealing significant differences in metabolites affected by sex and reproductive processes. The most significantly changed pathways were found to be unsaturated fatty acid synthesis and phenylalanine metabolism in A. japonicus.

MicroRNA Profiling During Mulberry (Morus atropurpurea Roxb) Fruit Development and Regulatory Pathway of miR477 for Anthocyanin Accumulation

Xiaonan Dong et al.

Summary: By constructing small RNA libraries and studying differentially expressed miRNAs, the regulatory mechanism of mulberry fruit development and ripening mediated by miRNAs was revealed. Furthermore, it was found that mul-miR477 regulates anthocyanin accumulation by targeting Mul-ABCB19AS and Mul-ABCB19.
