Engineering actively magnetic crosslinked inclusion bodies of Candida antarctica lipase B: An efficient and stable biocatalyst for enzyme-catalyzed reactions

Yu Han et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that recombinant Candida antarctica lipase B expressed in the form of inclusion bodies remains active and can be crosslinked with oxidized dextran to form magnetic aggregates with high activity recovery. These aggregates show excellent thermal stability, storage stability, and pH tolerance, while also exhibiting the ability to be recycled effectively and retain high activity levels. Additionally, they can be used in carbon-carbon bond-forming reactions to produce multiple products simultaneously, showcasing their potential as a versatile biocatalyst.

Determination of sarcosine based on magnetic cross-linked enzyme aggregates for diagnosis of prostate cancer

Qianqian Hu et al.

Summary: In this study, magnetic cross-linked enzyme aggregates (MCLEAs) were synthesized using sarcosine oxidase, providing great stability and recyclability. A colorimetric assay for sarcosine detection was developed based on the enzymatic reaction between MCLEAs and the substrate, with a linear range of 0.3125 to 10 μg mL(-1) and recoveries ranging from 87.50-97.75%, showing potential for reliable analysis of sarcosine in urine.
