In Vitro Evaluation of a Composite Gelatin-Hyaluronic Acid-Alginate Porous Scaffold with Different Pore Distributions for Cartilage Regeneration

Bifunctional scaffolds of hydroxyapatite/poly(dopamine)/carboxymethyl chitosan with osteogenesis and anti-osteosarcoma effect

Summary: The study developed a bifunctional tissue engineering scaffold with anti-tumor and bone repair properties using a combination of hydroxyapatite, poly(dopamine), and carboxymethyl chitosan. The scaffold showed enhanced osteogenic properties and effective suppression of tumor growth in both in vitro cell experiments and in vivo tumor models in nude mice. The scaffolds with poly(dopamine) were able to promote osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow stromal cells and suppress tumor cell proliferation through a direct photothermal effect.
