Gallium-Enhanced Aluminum and Copper Electromigration Performance for Flexible Electronics

Saeedeh Ravandi et al.

Summary: Wide range binary and ternary thin film combinatorial libraries were screened to identify alloys, such as Al-8 at. % Ga and Cu-5 at. % Ga, which can replace pure Al or Cu connecting lines in high current/power electronics. These alloys, deposited on flexible PEN substrates, exhibited enhanced adhesion and superior properties, with Al-8 at. % Ga showing almost a 50% increase in electromigration suppression compared to pure Al and Cu-5 at. % Ga showcasing over 100% increase in maximum current density on SiO2 and PEN substrates.

Influence of electrolyte selection on performance of tantalum anodic oxide memristors

Ivana Zrinski et al.

Summary: Anodic memristors obtained through electrochemical anodization of Ta in phosphate, borate and citrate buffer solutions show memristive behavior with improved characteristics when anodized in phosphate buffer solution. The use of phosphate leads to higher stability, endurance and retention of the devices. These enhanced properties make anodic memristors ideal candidates for industrial implementation.

Electrolyte-Dependent Modification of Resistive Switching in Anodic Hafnia

Ivana Zrinski et al.

Summary: Anodic HfO2 memristors grown in different electrolytes exhibit varying performance, with citrate showing superior properties while borate performs the weakest. Various tests were conducted on the memristors, including the influence of low temperature heating and the stability of operation at high temperatures.

Phosphate incorporation in anodic hafnium oxide memristors

Ivana Zrinski et al.

Summary: The electrochemical fabrication of memristive devices based on Hf was demonstrated, with the impact of different phosphate buffers on conductive filament formation explored. Using 1 M phosphate buffer resulted in the formation of Hf-O-P compounds that hindered phosphate incorporation and improved the performance of anodic Hf memristors. High resolution atomic imaging provided further understanding of memristive switching in HfO2.
