Shape-Versatile 3D Thermoelectric Generators by Additive Manufacturing

Md Mofasser Mallick et al.

Summary: A high figure-of-merit printable thermoelectric ink based on Ag2Se has been formulated and applied to the manufacturing of 3D printed thermoelectric generators. Different shaped scaffolds were printed using 3D printing and then painted with n-type and p-type legs to fabricate TEGs with varying numbers of legs and shapes, achieving power output levels of several microwatts and output voltages of several millivolts.

Thermoelectric Properties of Cu2Se Nano-Thin Film by Magnetron Sputtering

Liangliang Yang et al.

Summary: Thermoelectric technology offers advantages such as quiet operation, zero emissions, and long life, but its large-scale application is limited by the lower thermoelectric performance factor (ZT). By growing Cu2Se thin films using magnetron sputtering, researchers achieved high conductivity and ZT values. This work lays the foundation for further research on nano-thin-film thermoelectrics.

Thermoelectric Generator Using Polyaniline-Coated Sb2Se3/β-Cu2Se Flexible Thermoelectric Films

Minsu Kim et al.

Summary: Sb2Se3 and beta-Cu2Se nanowires were successfully synthesized using hydrothermal reaction and water evaporation-induced self-assembly methods, with their morphologies confirmed using various analytical techniques. Coating the nanowires with polyaniline (PANI) improved their electrical conductivity, resulting in enhanced thermoelectric performance in flexible films. The combination of inorganic thermoelectric materials and flexible polymers showed promise in generating power for wearable or portable devices.

Thermoelectric Properties of Cu2Se Synthesized by Hydrothermal Method and Densified by SPS Technique

Pawel Nieroda et al.

Summary: The study successfully obtained copper (I) selenide material Cu2Se with excellent thermoelectric properties through hydrothermal synthesis and spark plasma sintering method, and conducted related property studies. Experimental results showed that the obtained Cu2Se material has a high thermoelectric figure of merit ZT, which is one of the highest values among undoped Cu2Se materials currently available.
