Sustainable Production of Thermostable Laccase from Agro-Residues Waste by Bacillus aquimaris AKRC02

Adarsh Kumar et al.

Summary: A thermo-tolerant halophilic Bacillus aquimaris AKRC02 was isolated from pulp and paper mill waste sludge for efficient laccase production. Rice bran was found to support the maximum laccase production. Optimized environmental conditions and nutritional sources significantly enhanced laccase production, resulting in purified enzyme with high specific activity and thermal stability.

Isolation, identification and optimization of enhanced production of laccase from Galactomyces geotrichum under solid-state fermentation

Khadijeh Pourkhanali et al.

Summary: In this study, potent laccase-producing fungi were screened and isolated from olive mill wastewater, with one strain identified as Galactomyces geotrichum showing good laccase activity. The laccase production was optimized using the Taguchi design of experiments methodology, resulting in the determination of optimal fermentation conditions for maximum laccase activity. This research provides valuable insights into laccase-producing microorganisms in olive mill wastewater and their potential application in treating phenolic-rich wastewaters.
