Enabling Progress in Developing Economies: A Novel Hybrid Decision-Making Model for Green Technology Planning

Muhammad Ikram et al.

Summary: Green technologies play a crucial role in sustainable environmental strategies at the national level. This study proposes an integrated strategic framework based on the SWOT analysis for green technology planning in Pakistan. The Grey Analytical Hierarchical Process (GAHP) and Grey Technique for Order Performance by Similarity to Ideal Solution (GTOPSIS) methods are used to prioritize strategies. The results highlight the importance of the agriculture sector, foreign investment, cost reduction, and positive image in green technology planning, while improving security, reducing taxes on green technology imports, implementing lenient rules for local businesses, and promoting green technology in agriculture are identified as optimal strategies.

An integrated bi-objective data envelopment analysis model for measuring returns to scale

Mushtaq Taleb et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a bi-objective DEA model that takes into account undesirable factors and mixed integer requirements to address input excesses and output shortfalls. By integrating these factors and requirements into the objective function and constraints, the model is able to maximize both input reduction and output augmentation projections simultaneously.

Assessing Hybrid Solar-Wind Potential for Industrial Decarbonization Strategies: Global Shift to Green Development

Haroon ur Rashid Khan et al.

Summary: The study examined the impact of increasing wind and solar electricity production on reducing carbon intensity, finding that it helps decrease carbon intensity in both short and long term. On the other hand, increased coal and domestic lignite consumption leads to higher carbon intensity, while the production of refined oil products decreases carbon intensity. Improving processing and refining capacity to produce better-refined oil products using renewable fuels is crucial for achieving industrial decarbonization.

Summary: China, India, and the USA are the world's largest energy consumers and CO2 emitters, playing a crucial role in environmental solutions. Research shows that while China and the USA are predicted to reduce carbon emissions, India is predicted to increase CO2 emissions. To curb CO2 emissions, India must further enhance the use of low-carbon sources in its power supply.
