Effects of age, disease and anastomosis on short- and long-term survival after surgical correction of small intestinal strangulating diseases in 89 horses

Meredith J. Rudnick et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the long-term survival rate in horses after surgical treatment for small intestinal strangulating diseases. The results showed that age, disease, and type of surgery had an impact on the survival rate, with the remaining lifespan of the horses at the time of surgery having the greatest effect.
