Pathological lung segmentation in chest CT images based on improved random walker

Cheng Chen et al.

Summary: This study proposed a lung segmentation method based on an improved random walker algorithm, which achieved fast and accurate lung segmentation by introducing edge weights, Gaussian distribution seed points, and pre-parameter calculations. Experimental results demonstrated that the method outperformed the random walker algorithm in accuracy and speed, showing potential for clinical applications.

Looking for the Detail and Context Devils: High-Resolution Salient Object Detection

Pingping Zhang et al.

Summary: In this work, we focus on the High-Resolution Salient Object Detection (HRSOD) task and propose the first end-to-end learnable framework, named Dual ReFinement Network (DRFNet), which uses a global-aware feature pyramid and hybrid dilated convolutional blocks for more accurate and efficient salient object detection in high-resolution images. This approach achieves better performance than other state-of-the-art methods on high-resolution benchmarks and also generalizes well on low-resolution benchmarks.
