Moumen S. Kamel et al.

Summary: Novel pyrrolo [2,3-b] pyrrole derivatives with hypolipidemic and antimicrobial activities were synthesized and evaluated. Compounds 5 and 6 exhibited significant hypolipidemic effects, making them promising candidates for anti-atherosclerotic and hypolipidemic properties. Compound 2 showed moderate activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, while compound 3 demonstrated good antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. These derivatives also displayed good anticancer activity against three tested cell lines.

Design and Optimization of Orally Administered Luteolin Nanoethosomes to Enhance Its Anti-Tumor Activity against Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Mahmoud M. A. Elsayed et al.

Summary: Luteolin-loaded ethosomal nanoparticles (LUT-ENPs) were successfully prepared with high entrapment efficiency and small particle size. In vitro liver biomarkers assay revealed decreased levels of NO, MDA, and GPC3 gene expression, along with increased levels of GSH and SOD. Histopathological examination showed reduced hepatic adenomas and neoplastic hepatic lesions after treatment with LUT-ENPs, suggesting their potential as an oral drug delivery system for HCC treatment.
