Neoadjuvant hormonal therapy before radical prostatectomy in high-risk prostate cancer

Gaetan Devos et al.

Summary: The addition of potent androgen receptor signalling inhibitors in neoadjuvant hormonal therapy for high-risk prostate cancer is gaining interest, but the survival benefit remains inconclusive pending results from phase II trials. Patients with high-risk prostate cancer may require multimodal therapy for complete disease control, as conventional androgen deprivation therapy has not shown significant benefits in hard oncological end points. Studies using neoadjuvant ARSIs aim to gain insight into resistance mechanisms and personalized therapy.
