Solid tumor size for prediction of recurrence in large and giant non-functioning pituitary adenomas

Ching-Chung Ko et al.

Summary: Solid tumor diameter and volume are significant predictors of progression/recurrence in 1NFPA and gNFPA. Larger solid tumor size is associated with a higher risk of P/R in the short term.

Neural network modeling for prediction of recurrence, progression, and hormonal non-remission in patients following resection of functional pituitary adenomas

Shane Shahrestani et al.

Summary: A study on FPAs patients revealed that factors such as the need for additional surgery, unimproved visual deficits, transient diabetes insipidus, higher MIB-1/Ki-67 labeling index, and low preoperative cortisol axis may predict suboptimal postoperative outcomes. Additionally, neural networks showed promising accuracy in predicting such outcomes.

Prediction of the Recurrence of Non-Functioning Pituitary Adenomas Using Preoperative Supra-Intra Sellar Volume and Tumor-Carotid Distance

Wenli Chen et al.

Summary: This study found that the ratio of supra-intrasellar volume and tumor-carotid distance were significantly correlated with the recurrence of NFPAs, and the V-D value had a predictive importance for preoperative recurrence of NFPAs. Patients with higher V-D values tended to relapse earlier and should be closely monitored.
