Epigenetic Silencing of Tumor Suppressor lncRNA NKILA: Implication on NF-?B Signaling in Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Min-Yue Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the function and mechanism of long non-coding RNA NKILA in non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. They found that NKILA was methylated in tumor cell lines, leading to the loss of its tumor suppressor effect and sustained activation of NF-kappa B signaling. The results suggest that NKILA is an important tumor suppressor in DLBCL.

Immune cell constitution in the tumor microenvironment predicts the outcome in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma

Matias Autio et al.

Summary: The study characterized the immunological profile of DLBCL TME using Nanostring platform and multiplex immunohistochemistry, revealing high heterogeneity at the transcriptome level. A high proportion of immune checkpoint positive T cells in the tumor microenvironment was associated with unfavorable survival outcomes.

Higher infiltration of intratumoral CD25+FOXP3+lymphocytes correlates with a favorable prognosis in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma

Chen Chang et al.

Summary: In patients with DLBCL, a higher number of intratumoral CD25 + FOXP3+ lymphocytes is associated with favorable prognosis, along with other clinical and pathological characteristics. This higher number of regulatory T-cells also correlates with increased infiltration by cytotoxic T-lymphocytes and nodal location.

High levels of Tim-3+Foxp3+Treg cells in the tumor microenvironment is a prognostic indicator of poor survival of diffuse large B cell lymphoma patients

Weijie Zhong et al.

Summary: Foxp3(+)Treg cells expressing high levels of Tim-3 in the tumor microenvironment of colorectal and lung cancer are associated with poor prognosis. Similar enrichment of Tim-3(+)Foxp3(+)Treg cells in the tumor microenvironment of diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is also predictive of poor outcomes, potentially through IL-10 secretion. Blocking IL-10 secretion by targeting Tim-3 may offer a promising therapeutic approach for DLBCL.

Increased Blood Monocytic Myeloid Derived Suppressor Cells but Low Regulatory T Lymphocytes in Patients with Mild COVID-19

Carlos Jimenez-Cortegana et al.

Summary: The study found that COVID-19 patients had a significant increase in peripheral monocytic MDSCs, a decrease in Tregs, an increase in inhibited or exhausted T cells, as well as a decrease in activated T cells compared to healthy controls. Additionally, there was a significant negative correlation between the number of M-MDSCs and the number of activated T cells.

Circulating immune biomarkers in peripheral blood correlate with clinical outcomes in advanced breast cancer

Natalia Palazon-Carrion et al.

Summary: This study analyzed immune biomarkers in peripheral blood of patients with advanced breast cancer undergoing antineoplastic therapy, finding higher levels of myeloid derived suppressor cells and regulatory T cells in patients compared to healthy women. Patients with clinical benefit showed an increase in activated T lymphocytes and a decrease in immune inhibitory cells, while those with disease progression exhibited the opposite trend. These results suggest detectable immune elements in peripheral blood may be correlated with clinical evolution in advanced breast cancer.

Circulating myeloid-derived suppressor cells and regulatory T cells as immunological biomarkers in refractory/relapsed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: translational results from the R2-GDP-GOTEL trial

Carlos Jimenez-Cortegana et al.

Summary: In this study, MDSC and Treg levels were found to be increased in all patients with relapsed/refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma compared to healthy controls, and decreased after treatment only in patients with longer overall survival. Additionally, activated T lymphocytes increased after therapy in patients with better overall survival, suggesting a possible role of MDSCs and Treg cells in immunosuppression and as potential therapeutic targets in DLBCL.
