3D-printed pre-tapped-hole scaffolds facilitate one-step surgery of predictable alveolar bone augmentation and simultaneous dental implantation

Cuicui Zhang et al.

Summary: This study developed a personalized scaffold with a pre-tapped hole using 3D printing technology, which could perfectly fit dental implants and had a well-designed structure and proper mechanical properties. The scaffold demonstrated excellent in vitro and in vivo biocompatibility and osteoconductivity, providing an effective strategy for one-step surgery of predictable alveolar bone augmentation and simultaneous dental implantation.

Micro-tomographic characterization of the root and canal system morphology of mandibular first premolars in a Chilean population

Alfredo Sierra-Cristancho et al.

Summary: The root anatomy and root canal system morphology of mandibular first premolars in a Chilean population showed a wide range of anatomical variations. Teeth with multiple root canals had a higher incidence of radicular grooves, which were closely related to more complex internal anatomy. Tomes' anomalous root was only present in teeth with multiple root canals.
