Etiology-, Sex-, and Tumor Size-Based Differences in Adrenocorticotropin-Dependent Cushing Syndrome

Rama Walia et al.

Summary: The study found that Cushing disease was the most common cause of ACTH-dependent Cushing syndrome, with male predominance in EAS and female predominance in CD. Male patients showed a clinical profile suggesting more aggressive disease. There was a correlation between tumor size and ACTH levels in CD patients.

Clinical Implications of the New WHO Classification 2017 for Pituitary Tumors

Wolfgang Saeger et al.

Summary: According to the WHO classification of Pituitary Tumors in 2017, adenomas are classified into three cell lineages based on the expression of Pit-1, T-pit, and SF-1 transcription factors as well as the structure and immunostaining for pituitary hormones. The expression of transcription factors can help to determine the hormonal activity of adenomas.

Consensus on diagnosis and management of Cushing's disease: a guideline update

Maria Fleseriu et al.

Summary: Cushing's disease requires accurate diagnosis, careful treatment selection, and long-term management. The Pituitary Society convened a consensus workshop to discuss recent evidence and clinical practice. Recommendations regarding lab tests, imaging, and treatment options were collated and discussed, with focus on future research topics.
