Assessment of Preload Loss after Cyclic Loading in the OT Bridge System in an All-on-Four Rehabilitation Model in the Absence of One and Two Prosthesis Screws

Mario Cesare Pozzan et al.

Summary: The stability of prosthetic screws in an all-on-four rehabilitation model was evaluated after applying cyclic loadings using the OT Bridge system. The results showed that the OT Bridge system can effectively maintain prosthesis retention even in the absence of one screw in all-on-four rehabilitation. This is significant in solving the aesthetic problem of the screw buccal access hole for fixed solutions.

Risk-of-bias VISualization (robvis): An R package and Shiny web app for visualizing risk-of-bias assessments

Luke A. McGuinness et al.

Summary: Despite the availability of numerous software options for evidence synthesis, there is currently no universal tool for generating figures to display and explore risk-of-bias assessments. However, tools such as the R programming environment and Shiny have made it easy to create new tools for producing evidence syntheses. The new tool robvis facilitates the rapid production of publication-quality risk-of-bias assessment figures and is available as an R package and web app.

The Effect of Hypothyroidism on Bone Loss at Dental Implants

Brendon L. Ursomanno et al.

Summary: Patients with HT have a decreased rate of bone loss around dental implants compared to those without HT, even after excluding confounding factors. The data suggest that HT patients may not be at increased risk for dental implant failure.

Summary: In patients with chronic periodontitis, implant survival rates are relatively high, but implants in the anterior area, with a history of bone graft, and insertion torque <15 Ncm are associated with a higher risk of implant loss.

Growth hormone replacement may influence the biological action of thyroid hormone on liver and bone tissue

Nigel Glynn et al.

Summary: The GH replacement therapy can impact thyroid hormone action, resulting in a decrease in free T4 concentration, an increase in free T3 concentration, and an increase in the T3:T4 ratio. Additionally, alterations in the thyroid axis due to GH replacement therapy are associated with fluctuations in bone turnover markers.

Summary: TSH, traditionally known for regulating thyroid function, also plays a crucial role in skeletal remodeling and bone metabolism. Studies using genetically modified mouse models have shown an independent role of TSH in bone health, beyond its relationship with thyroid hormone levels.

Effect of hypothyrodism's medication (T4) on implant osstointegration: A case series and literature search

Mariam Al-Hindi et al.

Summary: This study investigated the outcomes of dental implants in patients with hypothyroidism undergoing T4 replacement therapy through literature review and clinical case analysis. The results indicated that patients with T4-treated hypothyroidism showed successful implant outcomes after a follow-up period, suggesting that dental implants can be considered in this patient population.
