Analysis of bleb morphology after CLASS with ultrasound biomicroscopy and clinical grading scale

Xiaowei Yan et al.

Summary: Filtration in the area subjected to CO2 laser-assisted sclerectomy surgery (CLASS) was evaluated using ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) and clinical grading scale to analyze the mechanism of intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction. Results showed a significant decrease in IOP and anterior chamber depth one month after CLASS surgery, with most blebs exhibiting mild to moderate vascular hyperemia. UBM examination indicated the drainage route of aqueous humor, suggesting that subconjunctival and choroidal drainage routes may play a major role in early IOP reduction after CLASS surgery.
