Prevalence and significance of mesentery thickening and lymph nodes enlargement in Crohn's disease

Gianluca M. Sampietro et al.

Postoperative complications and waiting time for surgical intervention after radiologically guided drainage of intra-abdominal abscess in patients with Crohn's disease

A. El-Hussuna et al.

Summary: In patients with active Crohn's disease, factors such as older age, residual abscess after PD, smoking, and low serum albumin concentration are associated with higher rates of postoperative complications. An interval of at least 2 weeks after successful PD is linked to reduced risk of abscess recurrence.

Anastomosis configuration and technique following ileocaecal resection for Crohn's disease: a multicentre study

Valerio Celentano et al.

Summary: This study evaluated different anastomotic techniques used in ileocaecal resection for primary CD patients in Italy. The most common anastomotic configuration was side to side, and stapled techniques were preferred over hand-sewn. Postoperative morbidity and anastomotic leak were not affected by anastomotic technique and configuration, but were associated with certain patient factors like ASA grade >=3 and disease distribution.
