Enabling Micro-payments on IoT Devices using Bitcoin Lightning Network

Summary: This paper proposes a protocol that allows IoT devices to utilize LN functions through a gateway LN node in a secure and efficient manner. The idea involves replacing multi-signature channels to enable IoT devices to participate in LN operations. The research evaluated the proposed protocol by implementing it on a Raspberry Pi for toll payment scenario and demonstrated its feasibility and security.
