Rationally Designed Mn2O3-ZnMn2O4 Hollow Heterostructures from Metal-Organic Frameworks for Stable Zn-Ion Storage

Yinxiang Zeng et al.

Summary: By developing a two-step metal-organic framework (MOF)-engaged templating strategy, heterostructured Mn2O3-ZnMn2O4 hollow octahedrons (MO-ZMO HOs) were synthesized for stable zinc ion storage. The MO-ZMO HOs exhibit abundant active sites, enhanced electric conductivity, and superior structural stability, resulting in high reversible capacity, impressive rate performance, and outstanding electrochemical stability. Ex situ characterizations reveal that the charge storage of MO-ZMO HOs mainly comes from highly reversible Zn2+ insertion/extraction reactions.

High electrical conductivity at room temperature of MnCo2O4 cobaltite spinel prepared by sol-gel method

Ameni Zaouali et al.

Summary: The cobaltite spinel MnCo2O4 nanopowder prepared by sol-gel method exhibits semiconductor behavior and potential application as an anode material in fuel cells, as shown by its infrared spectrum, electrical and dielectric studies. The material shows different vibration modes in the IR spectrum and has a DC conductivity of σ = 6.10(-3) Sm-1 at room temperature. Additionally, the AC conductivity follows Jonscher's law at low temperatures and the Drude model at high temperatures, while the dielectric results demonstrate a permittivity of ε'approximate to 10(3) due to Maxwell-Wagner polarization contribution.
