Elucidating the Unique Hot Carrier Cooling in Two-Dimensional Inorganic Halide Perovskites: The Role of Out-of-Plane Carrier- Phonon Coupling

Qi Sun et al.

Summary: This study reveals the intrinsic carrier dynamics in 2D perovskite quantum wells using CsPbBr3 nanoplates as a model system. A ultrafast and hot-phonon-bottleneck-free carrier cooling is observed in monodisperse CsPbBr3 quantum wells, in contrast to bulk and nanocrystalline perovskites. The absence of hot-phonon-bottleneck is attributed to the efficient out-of-plane triplet-exciton-LO-phonon coupling in 2D perovskites.

Impacts of CsPbBr3/PbSe Heterostructures on Carrier Cooling Dynamics at Low Carrier Density

Goutam Ghosh et al.

Summary: Metal halide perovskite nanocrystals have emerged as a promising material for high-performance solar cells. A new strategy of charge localization at the CsPbBr3/PbSe heterostructure interface is proposed to retard hot carrier cooling. Experimental results show slower relaxation time and higher initial temperature for hot carriers in the heterostructure compared to pure CsPbBr3. The findings provide a new protocol for achieving long-lived hot carriers in perovskites at low carrier densities.

Structural Analysis and Carrier Relaxation Dynamics of 2D CsPbBr3 Nanoplatelets

Kritiman Marjit et al.

Summary: The study investigates the crystal structure and ultrafast carrier relaxation dynamics of two-dimensional CsPbBr3 perovskite nanoplatelets with varying monolayer thickness. The research reveals that the change in monolayer thickness leads to red-shift in optical properties and enhancement of decay time. This understanding of photoinduced carrier dynamics could contribute to the design of 2D perovskite-based photovoltaic devices.

Deciphering the Relaxation Mechanism of Red-Emitting Carbon Dots Using Ultrafast Spectroscopy and Global Target Analysis

Srijon Ghosh et al.

Summary: The study revealed structural modifications and changes in ultrafast relaxation dynamics of red-emitting C-dots due to boron doping. Boron doping increased the percentage of pyrridinic nitrogen and formed an additional excited state level, slowing down the initial relaxation process and prolonging the overall lifetime of the C-dots.
