The precession constant and its long-term variation

Siavash Ghelichkhan et al.

Summary: The dynamical flattening of the Earth, H, is a fundamental astro-geodetic parameter related to the precession constant, and is influenced by various geophysical processes such as solid-state convection in the mantle, plate tectonics, isostatic adjustments, and ice-ocean mass transfer. The time dependence of H is complex and non-linear, and cannot be captured by a constant rate parameter as previously suggested.
