Convection-permitting modelling improves simulated precipitation over the central and eastern Tibetan Plateau

Puxi Li et al.

Summary: This study compared the performance of a convection-permitting model with two mesoscale models in simulating precipitation over the Tibetan Plateau. The mesoscale models exhibited notable wet biases and a spurious early-afternoon rainfall peak, while the convection-permitting model significantly reduced the wet bias and spurious rainfall.

Interannual oxygen isotope variability in Indian summer monsoon precipitation reflects changes in moisture sources

Gayatri Kathayat et al.

Summary: The study indicates that the spatio-temporal variability of oxygen isotope compositions in precipitation over the Indian summer monsoon domain is inadequately constrained by the limited observational record, leading to unclear climatic significance of isotopic signatures. It also suggests that during weak monsoon years, the moisture contribution primarily comes from the Arabian Sea, while during strong monsoon years, the influence from remote oceanic and terrestrial sources is greater.
