Gonadotrophin stimulation reduces follicular fluid hormone concentrations and disrupts their quantitative association with cumulus cell mRNA

Michael von Wolff et al.

Summary: This study compared follicular fluid hormone concentrations and mRNA expression of LHCG, FSH and androgen receptors, aromatase, and anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) in naturally matured and stimulated follicles. The results showed that hormone concentrations were lower in stimulated cycles, but mRNA concentrations did not differ between the two groups. Quantitative associations between hormone and mRNA concentrations were observed in natural cycles, but not in stimulated cycles.

Lower risk of adverse perinatal outcomes in natural versus artificial frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycles: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Jose Moreno-Sepulveda et al.

Summary: This study found that in singleton pregnancies following IVF, natural cycle frozen embryo transfer (NC-FET) was associated with a lower risk of hypertensive disorders, preeclampsia, large for gestational age, and macrosomia compared to artificial cycle frozen embryo transfer (AC-FET), with no significant difference in the risk of gestational hypertension and small for gestational age. Additionally, NC-FET significantly decreased the risk of various other adverse perinatal outcomes such as preterm birth, post-term birth, low birth weight, cesarean section, postpartum hemorrhage, placental abruption, and placenta accreta.

Endometrial preparation for frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycles: a systematic review and network meta-analysis

Hanglin Wu et al.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of different endometrial preparation protocols for frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) cycles and present treatment hierarchies. Natural cycle treatment was found to have a higher chance of live birth and lower risks of pregnancy-induced hypertension, postpartum hemorrhage, and very preterm birth compared to artificial cycle treatment. In contrast, artificial cycle treatment ranked last in effectiveness among the different protocols studied.
