The effects of the day of trophectoderm biopsy and blastocyst grade on the clinical and neonatal outcomes of preimplantation genetic testing-frozen embryo transfer cycles

Linjun Chen et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the impact of TE biopsy day and blastocyst grade on clinical and neonatal outcomes. The results showed that day 5 TE biopsy had higher rates of implantation and live births compared to day 6 TE biopsy. The miscarriage rate was lower for day 5 TE biopsy, but the difference was not statistically significant. Higher quality blastocysts achieved better implantation and live birth rates. Among good quality blastocysts, there was no significant difference between day 5 and day 6 TE biopsy rates. However, for fair and poor quality blastocysts, day 5 TE biopsy had significantly higher rates than day 6 TE biopsy. Neither blastocyst grade nor TE biopsy day significantly affected the miscarriage rate. Neonatal outcomes such as newborn sex, gestational age, preterm birth, birth weight, and low birth weight did not significantly differ between day 5 and day 6 TE biopsies. Both blastocyst grade and TE biopsy day should be considered together in preimplantation genetic testing-frozen embryo transfer.

Trophectoderm biopsy protocols may impact the rate of mosaic blastocysts in cycles with pre-implantation genetic testing for aneuploidy

Shun Xiong et al.

Summary: Different biopsy protocols may impact the rate of mosaic blastocysts, with ZP opening combined with TE biopsy potentially increasing the incidence of mosaic blastocysts.

The effects of aging on molecular modulators of human embryo implantation

Panagiotis Ntostis et al.

Summary: Advancing age negatively affects female fertility by altering embryonic factors. Research suggests that samples from young women's trophectoderm interact with the uterine environment to enhance embryo implantation, revealing roles for extracellular exosomes, embryonic metabolism, and regulation of apoptosis in successful implantation.
