Oxidative Cysteine Modification of Thiol Isomerases in Thrombotic Disease: A Hypothesis

Moua Yang et al.

Summary: Oxidative stress is a characteristic of many systemic diseases associated with thrombosis, and thiol isomerases play a key role in protein folding. Recent studies show that the oxidoreductase activity of thiol isomerases in thrombus formation is controlled by the redox environment and may potentially control thrombotic potential by modifying substrate networks.
