Oxygen-Sensitive MRI: A Predictive Imaging Biomarker for Tumor Radiation Response?

Tatsuya J. Arai et al.

Summary: Oxygen-sensitive MRI allowed stratification of tumors for local control at 40 Gy, indicating its potential as a predictive imaging biomarker. Increasing radiation dose to 50 Gy overcame radiation resistance attributable to hypoxia in 50% of tumors.

Imaging-Guided Evaluation of the Novel Small-Molecule Benzosuberene Tubulin-Binding Agent KGP265 as a Potential Therapeutic Agent for Cancer Treatment

Yihang Guo et al.

Summary: KGP265, a water-soluble prodrug, showed promising vascular-disrupting activity in different tumor types and demonstrated significant efficacy in animal models without obvious systemic toxicity. Combination therapy with KGP265 may provide increased tumor growth delay, though further research is needed for development.

Broadband (100 kHz-100 MHz) ultrasound PVDF detectors for raster-scan optoacoustic angiography with acoustic resolution

A. A. Kurnikov et al.

Summary: Spherical ultrasonic antennas are used in raster-scan optoacoustic angiography to record signals generated by haemoglobin molecules in blood. The bandwidth of ultrasonic detectors can be expanded using nonresonant piezomaterials like PVDF, allowing for wider frequency ranges. Different thicknesses of PVDF piezofilms result in sensors with varying performance in different frequency ranges.
