Thermal behavior of Mg-Ni-phyllosilicate nanoscrolls and performance of the resulting composites in hexene-1 and acetone hydrogenation

Ekaterina K. Khrapova et al.

Summary: The study on the thermal properties of Mg-Ni-phyllosilicate nanoscrolls revealed their potential as a precursor for Ni/silicate composite catalysts with high surface area. The spontaneous scrolling of phyllosilicate structure and subsequent transformations influenced the physical properties and reaction performance of the catalyst.

The influence of edge specific surface energy on the direction of hydrosilicate layers scrolling

A. A. Krasilin

Summary: This study focuses on energy modeling of morphological features of hydrosilicate nanoscrolls with chrysotile structure, exploring the possibility of scrolling direction change driven by difference in specific surface energies. The results reveal several directions preferable to the traditional scrolling directions, which may contribute to a better understanding of the correlation between morphology, structural features, and mechanical behavior of hydrosilicate nanoscrolls.
