Optimization of Hole and Electron Transport Layer for Highly Efficient Lead-Free Cs2TiBr6-Based Perovskite Solar Cell

Syed Abdul Moiz

Summary: The methylammonium lead halide solar cell has gained attention due to its lightweight, low cost, and simple fabrication. However, its commercialization is hindered by the toxicity of lead. Cs2TiBr6 has been considered as a lead-free alternative, but it lacks matched hole and electron transport layers, resulting in lower power conversion efficiency. This study determined the ideal parameters for the hole and electron transport layers in Cs2TiBr6-based solar cells through simulation. The highest power conversion efficiency of 20.4% was achieved with optimized parameters. However, no suitable materials were found with the required electronic structure. Therefore, polymer NPB and CeOx were selected as hole and electron transport layers, resulting in a maximum power conversion efficiency of approximately 17.94%.
