Altered immunity to microbiota, B cell activation and depleted γδ/resident memory T cells in colorectal cancer

Alistair Noble et al.

Summary: The role of microbiota and immune system dysregulation in the development of colorectal cancer is significant. The study found that certain immune cell populations were reduced in the colonic tissue of CRC patients compared to healthy individuals, while B cell memory responses to bacteria/yeast were increased. These findings suggest that B cell dysregulation may contribute to inflammation and weakened tumor surveillance in CRC-susceptible individuals.
