The Effects of Visual Feedback on Performance in Heart Rate- and Power-Based-Tasks during a Constant Load Cycling Test

Martin Dobiasch et al.

Summary: Performance feedback is crucial for cyclists, but the options are limited on bike computers. This study compared two novel feedback variants with a classic design and found that the novel variants improved athletes' performance. Individualized feedback may yield even better results.

Wearable Inertial Measurement Unit to Measure External Load: A Full-Season Study in Professional Soccer Players

Hadi Nobari et al.

Summary: This study aimed to describe the variations of training workload among different playing positions over a full season. The results showed that lateral defenders/wingers had higher training workload compared to central defenders/forwards and midfielders. This suggests that training intensity differs depending on the playing position.

Demands of professional cycling races: Influence of race category and result

Teun Van Erp et al.

Summary: This study analyzes the impact of race category and results on the demands of professional cycling races. It found that cycling monuments had significantly higher volume and load compared to other single-day race categories, while differences in intensity measures between different single-day races were trivial to small. Higher ranked races tended to have lower shorter-duration maximal mean power outputs, potentially due to the impact of longer race durations and loads. Results also showed that top-10 finishers had higher maximal mean power outputs over shorter durations compared to non-top-10 finishers within the same category.

PushToSki - An Indoor Ski Training System Using Haptic Feedback

Jana Hoffard et al.

Summary: Haptic feedback is a method to improve sports postures without changing the trainee's head-pose, but it is not feasible in dynamic sports like skiing. Therefore, a virtual reality ski training system using vibration as haptic feedback is proposed, allowing feedback even during movement on the simulator.
