Strategy of Compatible Use of Jet and Plunger Pump with Chrome Parts in Oil Well

Oleg Bazaluk et al.

Summary: This article discusses the utilization of oil gas and the use of jet pumps during oil field operations. By analyzing the pressure distribution along the borehole, the simultaneous application of a sucker-rod pump and a jet pump is evaluated. Mathematical methods are used to calculate various parameters for both the well and the jet pump, allowing for the identification of regularities and the recommendation of optimal jet pump location. The research also proposes using electrochemical chromium plating to reinforce pump parts, ensuring reliable operation and improving the environmental condition of oil fields.

Three internal fixation methods for Danis-Weber-B distal fibular fractures: A biomechanical comparison in an osteoporotic fibula model

Marianne Hollensteiner et al.

Summary: A common agreement for the surgical treatment of osteoporotic ankle fractures has not been defined yet. This study evaluated the mechanical stability of locked and conventional plates on osteoporotic Danis-Weber-B-fibula fracture models. The results showed that although no overall mechanical superiority was found, the locking plate groups exhibited higher shear and rotational stability compared to the neutralization plate group.

Evidence-Based Surgical Treatment Algorithm for Unstable Syndesmotic Injuries

Markus Regauer et al.

Summary: The surgical treatment of unstable syndesmotic injuries remains controversial, with no widely accepted guidelines. Various controversies exist surrounding screw fixation versus dynamic fixation, the use of reduction clamps, open versus closed reduction, and the role of the posterior malleolus and anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament (AITFL). An evidence-based surgical treatment algorithm is developed based on the literature, emphasizing the importance of anatomic reduction and flexible dynamic stabilization techniques whenever possible. Repair and augmentation of the unstable AITFL are also recommended.

Zn based hydroxyapatite based coatings deposited on a novel FeMoTaTiZr high entropy alloy used for bone implants

Mirela M. Codescu et al.

Summary: In this paper, a novel biocompatible alloy, FeMoTaTiZr, was functionalized with hydroxyapatite-based coatings (HAP) to enhance biocompatibility, bioactivity, and corrosion resistance for bone implants. The HAP coatings were doped with a small amount of Zn to confer antibacterial properties. Experimental results showed that the addition of Zn significantly increased the roughness of the coated substrate.

Summary: This paper investigates the distribution of stresses near damage in the form of axial surface cracks in a pipeline reinforced with a spiral-wound composite coating. The authors utilized the homogenization method and the finite element method to analyze the effective elastic characteristics and solve the deformation problem, respectively. Results show that the stress state of the coated intact pipe under pressure is influenced by the geometry of the capacity strip and the component composition of the heterogeneous coating.

Summary: This paper proposes a new technology to increase fluid production, especially hydrocarbons, by increasing the wellbore diameter, drilling large diameter circular recesses in planes perpendicular to the well axis, and destroying rock mass between the recesses with axial loads. Numerical analysis supports the possibility of increasing well diameter reaming twenty times, and a special tool has been developed for drilling. The advantage of this technology is its low energy consumption.
