A wide-bandgap, high-mobility electron-transporting material containing a 9,9′-spirobithioxanthene skeleton

Ke Duan et al.

Summary: A novel electron-transporting material T3PySS was designed and synthesized based on a p-pi conjugated 9,9'-spirobithioxanthene skeleton, showing high electron mobility and triplet energy level. Balanced inter- and intramolecular electron coupling was found critical for achieving high-mobility, wide-bandgap ETMs. Deep-blue FOLEDs and green PHOLEDs employing T3PySS exhibited improved efficiency and stability compared to control devices based on traditional ETMs.

Multi-Layer π-Stacked Molecules as Efficient Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Emitters

Xue-Qi Wang et al.

Summary: Multi-layer pi-stacked emitters based on spatially confined D/A/D patterns have been developed to achieve high-efficiency TADF. Dual donor moieties and a single acceptor moiety are introduced to form 3D emitters, resulting in high PLQYs, small Delta E-ST, and fast RISC processes. Devices based on these emitters exhibit maximum EQEs higher than their D/A-type analogues.

Mechanical single-molecule potentiometers with large switching factors from ortho-pentaphenylene foldamers

Jinshi Li et al.

Summary: Single-molecule potentiometers based on ortho-pentaphenylene derivatives exhibit a controllable conductance modulation through multiple folded conformers, achieving a significantly higher switching factor than previously reported values. The charge transport mechanism for these folded molecules is rationalized as a multichannel conductance governed by through-space and through-bond conducting pathways, shedding light on exploring robust single-molecule potentiometers based on helical structures.
