Enhanced magnetocaloric performances and tunable martensitic transformation in Ni35Co15Mn35-xFexTi15 all-d-metal Heusler alloys by chemical and physical pressures

Yong Li et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigated the crystal structure, phases, and magnetocaloric performance of Ni35Co15Mn35-xFexTi15 alloys under chemical and hydrostatic pressures. The results show that increasing Fe content can lower the martensitic transformation temperature, and increasing hydrostatic pressure can enhance the magnetocaloric performance. Additionally, applying pressure can significantly improve the magnetocaloric performance.

First-principles investigation of B2 partial disordered structure, martensitic transformation, elastic and magnetic properties of all-d-metal Ni-Mn-Ti Heusler alloys

Ziqi Guan et al.

Summary: This work systematically investigates the B2 partial disordered structure, martensitic transformation, elastic, and magnetic properties of Ni8Mn4+xTi4-x (x = 0, 1, and 2) Heusler alloys through first-principles calculations. The research reveals that the alloy exhibits different magnetic and elastic behaviors under different compositions, and the occurrence of martensitic transformation depends on the energy difference between austenite and martensite.

Impact of B alloying on ductility and phase transition in the Ni-Mn-based magnetic shape memory alloys: Insights from first-principles calculation

Hai-Le Yan et al.

Summary: In this study, the impact and correlated mechanism of B alloying on Ni-Mn-based multiferroic alloys were systematically studied through first-principles calculations. The results showed that replacing Ga with B can effectively improve the alloy's strength and reduce ductility, while B staying at the octahedral interstice leads to increased strength but significantly reduced ductility.

Large magnetocaloric effect and excellent mechanical properties near room temperature in Ni-Co-Mn-Ti non-textured polycrystalline alloys

Ziqi Guan et al.

Summary: In this study, the martensitic transformation, magnetic properties, and mechanical properties of Ni-Cu based Heusler alloys were systematically investigated. A Ni36Co14Mn35Ti15 alloy with a large magnetocaloric effect near room temperature was discovered by adjusting the composition. This alloy exhibited a significant magnetization change and magnetic entropy change during martensitic transformation under a 5T magnetic field, along with high compressive strength and ductility in the as-cast state.
