Summary: This study presents a sustainable and cost-effective method to synthesize SiC nanowhiskers using cornstalk cellulose char under microwave heating, optimizing the process and gaining insights into the formation and growth mechanism of the nanowhiskers. Higher reaction temperatures promote the growth of SiC nanowhiskers, with metallic species found in biochar catalyzing their formation and growth.
