Impact of convective heat transfer and buoyancy on micropolar fluid flow through a porous shrinking sheet: An FEM approach

Degavath Gopal et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the steady two-dimensional boundary layer flow of micropolar fluid with the impact of convective heat transfer and buoyancy force numerically. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into nonlinear ordinary differential equations using similarity transformations, and then solved numerically using the variational finite element method. The results are compared with existing literature, showing good agreement, and the influence of flow monitoring parameters on velocity, microrotation, and temperature profiles is graphically analyzed and discussed, along with the impact of adjusting physical parameters on skin friction coefficient and Nusselt numbers.

Mixed Convective-Radiative Dissipative Magnetized Micropolar Nanofluid Flow over a Stretching Surface in Porous Media with Double Stratification and Chemical Reaction Effects: ADM-Pade Computation

P. K. Pattnaik et al.

Summary: The study investigates the electrically conducting micropolar nanofluid flow from a vertical stretching surface adjacent to a porous medium under a transverse magnetic field. Utilizing Eringen's micropolar model for non-Newtonian characteristics and the Buongiorno nanofluid model for nanoscale effects, the research shows that increasing the Brownian motion parameter depletes concentration values in the flow.

Insight into the motion of water conveying three kinds of nanoparticles shapes on a horizontal surface: Significance of thermo-migration and Brownian motion

S. Saleem et al.

Summary: This study analyzes the dynamics of water colloidal mixtures with three different types of nanoparticles. The results show that increasing the density of spherical nanoparticles decreases friction and accumulation of species, but increases the mass transfer rate near the wall. Additionally, increased thermo-migration of nanoparticles decreases the Nusselt number, while increased Brownian motion decreases heat transfer and temperature distribution but increases mass transfer.

Summary: The study investigates the heat transport of non-Newtonian magneto-Carreau fluid in a microchannel with entropy generation minimization (EGM), analyzing viscous heating, Joule heating, and convective heating. Results show that EGM occurs for larger values of Weissenberg number, and the Carreau fluid exponent is positively related to Bejan number.

Numerical analysis of higher order chemical reaction on electrically MHD nanofluid under influence of viscous dissipation

D. Gopal et al.

Summary: This paper examines the thermophysical properties of higher-order chemical processing and viscous dissipation of nanofluid on a continuously stretching porous sheet. The impact of electric and magnetic fields on nanofluid with viscous dissipation in the presence of higher-order chemical reactions is the focus, observing the effects on thermal conductivity and heat transfer. By solving nonlinear ordinary differential equations and exploring various parameters, the study provides insight into the behavior of electrically conducting nanofluid flow and the thickness of boundary layers in momentum and thermal regions.
