Structural and morphological tuning of Cu-based metal oxide nanoparticles by a facile chemical method and highly electrochemical sensing of sulphite

Summary: A facile one-step chemical method was used to synthesize Cu2O, CuO and CuNa2(OH)(4) crystal structures, and their electrochemical properties were investigated. X-ray diffraction studies showed different crystal structures in these copper-based oxide nanoparticles, while transmission electron microscopy revealed attractive morphology variations. CuO exhibited promising electrocatalytic activity in the oxidation of sulphite, with a linear increase in peak current from 0.2 to 15 mM and sensitivity and detection limit of 48.5 mu A cm(-2) mM(-1) and 1.8 mu M, respectively. Finally, the practical utility of CuO modified electrode was demonstrated in the estimation of sulphite in commercial wine samples.

Novel sol-gel synthesis of CeO2 nanoparticles using Morinda citrifolia L. fruit extracts: Structural and optical analysis

The facet effect of ceria nanoparticles on platinum dispersion and catalytic activity of methanol partial oxidation

Phosphomolybdic Acid-Decorated Carbon Nanotubes for Low-Power Sensing of NH3 and NO2 at Room Temperature
