3D Imaging and Quantification of the Integrin at a Single-Cell Base on a Multisignal Nanoprobe and Synchrotron Radiation Soft X-ray Tomography Microscopy

Chunyu Zhang et al.

Summary: The development of three-dimensional single-cell imaging and protein quantitative methods has provided more comprehensive information for diagnoses. A multisignal nanoprobe was designed and synthesized for single-cell 3D imaging and quantifying the integrin alpha(IIb)beta(3) using synchrotron radiation soft X-ray tomography microscopy and an iterative tomographic algorithm for the first time. Additionally, the number of integrin alpha(IIb)beta(3) on a single cell can be accurately quantified based on the Au or Gd content of the nanoprobe through inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.
