REGULATION OF SOLUTE CARRIERS OCT2 AND OAT1/3 IN THE KIDNEY: A PHYLOGENETIC, ONTOGENETIC, AND CELL DYNAMIC PERSPECTIVE

Carla Pou Casellas et al.

Summary: This article describes the changes in the kidneys during evolution and the role of organic cation transporter 2 (OCT2) and organic anion transporters 1 and 3 (OAT1/3) in kidney disease. By protecting and repairing the function of these transporters, the progression of kidney disease can be slowed down, and current in vitro test models can be improved.

Interleukin-6 Knockout Inhibits Senescence of Bone Mesenchymal Stem Cells in High-Fat Diet-Induced Bone Loss

Yujue Li et al.

Summary: IL-6 KO mice exhibited reduced weight gain and inhibited bone loss, expansion of bone marrow adipose tissue, adipogenesis in bone marrow, and bone formation under high-fat diet conditions. IL-6 KO also suppressed the clone formation of bone marrow cells and the expression of senescence markers. Additionally, IL-6 antibody inhibited the activation of STAT3 and senescence in bone mesenchymal stem cells, while rescuing IL-6 induced senescence in IL-6 KO mice through the STAT3/p53/p21 pathway.

Mechanisms of Cellular Senescence: Cell Cycle Arrest and Senescence Associated Secretory Phenotype

Ruchi Kumari et al.

Summary: Cellular senescence is a stable cell cycle arrest triggered in response to various stimuli, characterized by dynamic changes in senescent cells. It has both positive effects on tissue repair and anti-cancer mechanisms, but can also negatively impact organismal health. Multiple pathways, including p53/p21 and p16/pRB, play central roles in regulating this process.
