Effect of silica source on the synthesis, property and catalytic performance of Sn-Beta zeolite

Shengqiang Zhou et al.

Summary: This study explored the synthesis of Sn-Beta zeolite using cheaper fumed silica and silica sol as Si sources, comparing their properties with those synthesized using the traditional TEOS method. The results showed that Sn-Beta could be successfully prepared with different silica sources, exhibiting similar crystallization behavior and morphology. Sn-Beta synthesized from silica sol showed higher catalytic activity but lower efficiency in glucose isomerization compared to other samples.

Nanoporous Sn-Substituted ZSM-48 Nanostructures for Glucose Isomerization

Kachaporn Saenluang et al.

Summary: Hierarchical Sn-substituted ZSM-48 nanostructures were successfully synthesized using amorphous Sn-Si nanobeads as starting materials. The presence of Sn-Si nanobeads improved the crystallization and dissolution rate of zeolites, resulting in a uniform spherical morphology and a high fraction of tetrahedral Sn in the framework. The catalytic performance of Sn-Si/ZSM-48 in glucose conversion to fructose was significantly enhanced, demonstrating the potential of hierarchical ZSM-48 for glucose upgrading applications.

Highly Dispersed Sn-beta Zeolites as Active Catalysts for Baeyer-Villiger Oxidation: The Role of Mobile, In Situ Sn(II)O Species in Solid-State Stannation

Elise Peeters et al.

Summary: Solid-state incorporation of Sn into beta zeolites is an efficient method to obtain Lewis acidic Sn beta catalysts with high activity. Preheating under an inert atmosphere prior to air-calcination results in Sn beta catalysts with the highest Sn dispersion and less extra-framework SnO2. In situ characterization reveals in situ generation of Sn(II)O species during pre-pyrolysis, enabling high Sn dispersion in Sn beta.
