Lean thinking and higher education management: revaluing the business school programme management

Summary: This paper explores the applications of lean thinking in re-evaluating the business school curriculum, syllabus, and intended learning objectives to enhance the employability of graduates by identifying and eliminating non-value-added activities. The research findings suggest that lean thinking helps in getting rid of unnecessary activities and emphasizing value-added activities in the business school curriculum. Value stream mapping has been found to be a useful tool for developing an employability-focused curriculum for business school students.
