A Comprehensive Thrips Species Assessment for Eco-Consistent Management of Infestations in Mediterranean Citrus Crops

Gregorio Vono et al.

Summary: This study provides a comprehensive overview of thrips pest species in citrus orchards in the main countries of the Mediterranean basin, including distribution areas, host plants, and IPM control methods. The study also presents new data on thrips infestations in southern Italy and highlights the differences in abundance and co-occurrence of thrips species in different citrus crops. The findings suggest that alternative ground covers could be an ecological tool to limit or mitigate thrips populations in citrus crops.

The Impact of Climate Change on Agricultural Insect Pests

Sandra Skendzic et al.

Summary: Climate change has significant impacts on agricultural insect pests, leading to various changes such as expanded geographic distribution, increased survival during overwintering, increased number of generations, altered interaction relationships, and more. These changes pose risks to crop economic losses and human food security, necessitating adaptive management strategies to address the challenges posed by the changing climate conditions.

Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Spirotetramat on the Diaspine Scale Parlatoria pergandii in Citrus Orchards

Amine Assouguem et al.

Summary: The study investigated the control of Parlatoria pergandii in citrus orchards in Morocco using different concentrations of Spirotetramat. The results showed that Spirotetramat was more effective on larvae than females, with higher rates of inhibition and parasitism observed in females. Additionally, the impact on the water table was less severe with lower concentrations of the pesticide.

Analysis of the effect of reasonable close planting on respiration characteristics of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) artificial grassland

Zhuo Luo

Summary: The degree of dense planting affects the respiration characteristics of alfalfa artificial grassland, with reasonable close planting resulting in high plant and multibranch forage. An analysis method of the effect of reasonable close planting on respiration characteristics of garden alfalfa artificial grassland was proposed, determining alfalfa planting density characteristics from three aspects and using an infrared carbon dioxide gas analyser for measurement. The proposed analysis method provides more complete respiratory characteristics and analysis results more consistent with reality.
