Understanding what determines university students' behavioral engagement in a group-based flipped learning context

Summary: This study examines the impact of course value, expectancy beliefs, and group interaction on student behavioral engagement in a group-based flipped learning context. Findings indicate that student interest and utility value are positively associated with behavioral engagement, while perceived task difficulty shows a negative linear relationship. Group peer interaction moderates the relationship between task difficulty and behavioral engagement, with high group interaction enhancing utility value's positive effect on engagement.
